Build your menu
Editing your menu
Open a dish beside the list to change its name, price, sizes, options, labels and when it's sold.
Your dishes, and the one you're editing
On a computer, the editor opens in Split: your shop, menus and option groups on the left, the menu's dishes in the middle, section by section, and the dish you click beside them. Change its name, price or anything else there; the list follows as you type.
- A dish opens on Basics: Available, its name and description in each language, and its price. Options, Labels and More hold the rest; see Dish details.
- The arrows above the dish go to the previous or next dish in the menu; ↑ and ↓ do the same in the list.
- Filter dishes, above the list, finds a dish by its name in either language.
- Type prices in baht as you'd write them: 1,200, ฿85 and Thai digits all work.
Tip: Rather have one column? Click Edit in the top bar and pick List, the phone's layout, in a column down the middle, or Table for every dish in a grid (below). This computer remembers your pick.
Table: every dish in rows and columns
For a big menu, a round of translating or repricing, pick Table from Edit in the top bar. Each menu is a tab, and its dishes are rows: the name in each language, the price, options, what the dish suits and contains, and whether it's available. Type straight into a name or a price; ↑, ↓ and Enter move up and down a column, as in a spreadsheet.
- A dish with sizes shows its price range and how many sizes it has; each size is a row under it, with its own name and price.
- A missing translation shows as a dashed + Add … box, so the gaps are easy to spot.
- Click a cell under Options, Suits or Contains to tick the dish's option groups, diets or allergens right there.
- Fold a section away with the arrow beside its name. Add dish, on the section's row, adds a dish to it.
- The button at the end of a row opens the dish's full details in a drawer beside the grid. Edit menu (the pencil above the grid), Option groups and Shop details open there too.
- The search box and the chips beside it narrow the grid: Sold out, Missing Thai, No description and Has options, each with how many dishes it would show.
- Columns picks what the grid shows, with the description, spice level and SKU under More columns. This computer remembers your pick, for every menu.
- Tick dishes to change several at once: a bar along the bottom marks them sold out, adjusts their prices, moves them, adds an option group, or duplicates or deletes them. Each change can be undone.
- When the menus don't all fit across the top, the rest fold into More, where you can also find a menu, add one, or reorder them.
Menus and sections
One venue can have several menus, such as Breakfast, All Day and Drinks. Each menu is split into sections (Coffee, Desserts), and a section can hold sub-sections. Customers see the same structure in LINE, and each menu starts a new page when printed.
- Add a menu with the + next to Menus on the left.
- Edit menu, above the dishes, opens the menu's page: its name and description, when it's served, and its sections, renamed right there and dragged into order. Done goes back to the dish you had open.
- Add a section with Add section on the menu's page, or Add sub-section from a section's ⋯ menu.
- Add a dish with Add a dish to … at the end of each section. It opens with its name ready to type, and a new dish you leave empty goes away again.
- Reorder by dragging: dishes by the ⠿ handle beside them (also into another section), sections by theirs on the menu's page. To move a section somewhere else entirely, use Move into… in its ⋯ menu.
- The ⋯ menu beside each dish, section and menu also holds Duplicate, Move up, Move down and Delete.
Tip: Deleting doesn't ask first. A message with Undo appears instead, and Ctrl Z (⌘Z on a Mac) works too.
Dish details
Click a dish and everything about it opens beside the list, in four tabs:
- Basics
- The Available switch, the name and description in each language, and the price: one price, or several sizes with a price each.
- Options
- Option groups: choices customers make when ordering, such as milk or sweetness.
- Labels
- Dietary labels (vegan, halal, gluten free…), allergens, spice level, and your own tags such as “signature”. Customers see the labels, allergens and spice on the dish in LINE, in their own language.
- More
- Availability (the days and hours it's sold, if not always), Photos (added by their web address, or URL), Nutrition, and Advanced for an SKU if your point-of-sale system uses one. The actions for the dish, such as duplicating and deleting it, are in its ⋯ menu.
Sizes and prices
When a dish comes in sizes or forms, such as a single or double espresso, or pad thai with tofu, chicken or prawn, give each its own price instead of one price for the dish.
- Open the dish and, under Price, switch from One price to Sizes.
- Name each size and give it a price. Add size adds another.
- To have one size chosen for customers already, open its ⋯ menu and choose Pre-select.
Removing the last size turns the dish back into a single price.
Option groups
An option group is a choice customers make when they order: Milk (whole, oat, soy), Sweetness, Add protein. Most groups are shared: you set up Milk once and offer it on every coffee. Change an option's price there and every dish that offers it changes too.
- Click Option groups on the left to list every shared group, then click one to change it beside the list: add options, rename them and set their extra charge.
- To offer a group on a dish, open the dish's Options tab and pick it from Add an option group.
- To change a group while you're on a dish, click ↗ beside it on the dish's Options tab. The group opens; Back to Latte above its name (named after your dish), or your browser's Back button, returns you to the dish.
- For a choice only one dish has, use Options just for this dish. If other dishes need it later, Make it a shared group.
- Required
- Customers must choose before adding the dish to their cart.
- At least / At most
- How many options a customer may pick. At most 1 makes it a single choice.
- Extra charge
- Added to the dish's price. Use a minus sign for a discount, like “no rice −10”.
- Pre-selected
- Chosen for the customer already; they can change it. Set it from the option's ⋯ menu, where Mark sold out is too.
Sold out, hidden and scheduled
You can stop selling something without deleting it:
- Sold out
- Turn off a dish's Available switch. Customers see it marked sold out and can't order it, and it's left off the printed menu. A whole selection can be marked at once (see below).
- Hidden
- Turn off a section's or a menu's Visible switch to hide it from customers, with everything in it.
- Scheduled
- On the dish's More tab, under Availability, choose At set times and pick the days and hours it's sold, such as a weekday lunch set, or a start and end date for a seasonal special. Add another time adds a second window. A whole menu can be scheduled the same way, under When it’s served on its page, like breakfast until 11:30.
Times are read in your venue's time zone. Separately, customers can only order while the venue is open; see Opening hours.
Change many dishes at once
Hold Ctrl (⌘ on a Mac) and click dishes in the list to select several, or click one and Shift-click another to select everything between them. What opens beside the list then works on all of them (on a phone, see Editing on a phone):
- Adjust prices by a percentage or by an amount in baht. A minus sign lowers them, and Round to whole amounts keeps the prices tidy.
- Move to section and Add an option group apply to every selected dish.
- Esc clears the selection.
Editing on a phone
On a phone, or a tablet held upright, the editor is always List: one menu at a time, its sections as tabs along the top, the way customers browse it in LINE. Picking List on a computer gives you the same, in a column down the middle.
- Menu in the bottom bar, or the menu's name at the top, opens every menu: switch to one, or ✎ to rename it and set its hours. Shop details, Option groups and Settings are there too.
- Tap a dish to open it. Available comes first, then its name, description and price; Options, Labels and More hold the rest.
- + adds a dish to the section on show (or one of its sub-sections), a sub-section, a section, a menu or an option group. It opens with its name ready to type, and a new dish you leave empty goes away again.
- Press and hold a dish, or tap Select, to pick several, from any tab: each tab counts the ones picked in it. Then mark them Sold out, change their Prices, Move them, or find more under More.
Tip: The phone's own Back button (or swipe) closes a page and takes you back to the list.
Undo, search and shortcuts
The undo and redo arrows in the top bar step back through your changes. Search (Ctrl K, or ⌘K on a Mac) finds any dish or section by name and runs commands such as adding a menu. Press ? to see every shortcut.
| Keys | What it does |
|---|---|
| Enter | Type in the open dish’s name |

| CtrlZ | Undo |
| CtrlShiftZ | Redo |
| CtrlD | Duplicate selected |
| CtrlShift↑↓ | Move selected up / down |
